Day 20 Weigh-In: -5.2 pounds (1.82 p/w)
In all honesty, I was hoping for more. But, considering that for the first week I almost completely disregarded the diet portion… this is not bad. Almost 2 pounds per week. My goal over the next to week is to lose a solid 2 or more pounds per week.
Tonight marks the start of my 1.5 day carb-load. I think my body needs it. This week of exercise has been especially exhausting, and without any carb sources it’s almost been like running on empty. Even during Kenpo X, which is usually just enough to break a sweat, was tough. So the carbs will definitely be appreciated. I need to make sure I plan ahead well in advance, though. I don’t want to gain weight just because I’m eating from carb sources. Also, I need to be able to go back during the week and after too many carbs that would be especially difficult.

Two changes made for today and this workout. First, I bought a pair of heavier weights to use. It was taking 20+ reps to feel the burn on exercises when I need to be feeling it at reps 15-20 (lower the better). The new weights really improved it, in addition to really BRINGING IT with push-ups and Ab Ripper X, I’d say this was the most successful day yet.
The next change is my diet. Something I’m going to try for the next week… focusing more on my MACROS and less on actual calories. I am to follow a keto set-up of mostly protein and fats, with as little carbs as possible (NONE from primary carb sources i.e. bread, pasta, cereal). During the weekend carb-”loading” will take place from Friday night – Saturday. By then I’ll pretty much have evaluated this new diet.
Again, this is pure experimentation, based on the frustrating fact that I have yet to lose weight in the past month (2 weeks of which I’ve been doing P90X).
Tomorrow ~~> Plyometrics, BRING IT

Ugh, stepped on the scale again. BIG mistake. Feeling super un-motivated now.
Legs and Back and Ab Ripper X was today and it went well. I need to find some way to up the intensity because only a handful of leg exercises (wall squats, wall squats with leg raise, calf raises) had me pushing my legs to the limit. Soccer and dance have both given me stronger quads, so just the bare minimum doesn’t blast them like with my arms.
Kenpo X tomorrow then rest day Saturday!

Have been feeling a little down the past few days. Weighed myself on Sunday (after a week of P90X) and found I’ve actually gained weight! Oh dear. Nothing to do then but clean up the diet and just BRING IT even more. I also think I need to increase my weights, so a shopping trip is in order this weekend.
Did Yoga X today. Boy, I still am still not a fan of this workout! The hour and a half didn’t go by any faster than the first time, though I noticed more endurance. I did all of the Upward Dogs properly, instead of reverting to cobra.
My legs are very sore, thus am not exactly looking forward to Legs and Back tomorrow! But only two more days and I can have a nice rest day Saturday and will be 2 weeks in (10 more to go!)

Second time doing Chest and Back, and no less difficult than the first time!
The first time I did this workout I immediately modified moves because I didn’t think I would last the entire video if I didn’t. This time I PUSHED IT. I did each exercise unmodified for as long as I could, only going to the modified version when I was really losing form or just simply lost the strength. Sometimes this meant 1 rep or less unmodified (diamond push-ups!), other times it meant 5 or more (dive bomber). I’m definitely going to be feeling some soreness tomorrow, heck I’m feeling it now!
Ab Ripper X was a monster as usual. I don’t want to say it’s getting easier, but I guess I’m getting used to it–mentally at least. Next week I’m going to up my reps for sure, my goal is to be able to do every single rep (including the extras at the end!) by the end of the month.
Plyometrics tomorrow. A part of me is excited… how sick is that?
